How to Engage Students with Digital Signage

Share this post:
Digital signage is a simple yet powerful way for schools and educators to offer relevant information to students and to keep students engaged. Are you looking to recognize students for being good people, academics, arts, and athletic success? Are you looking to address SEL topics like bullying or increase attendance at school events and participation in the school community? The article below will explore specific ways schools and educators can use digital signage to increase student engagement and provide relevant and timely information.

Educational videos, motivational quotes, and all sorts of information can be displayed on screens of all shapes and sizes. Digital signage helps keep all students engaged by providing them with the necessary information, which helps students and teachers stay on schedule because it displays daily schedules, reminders, school announcements, emergency alerts, and anything else educators need to convey. It is also possible to display trending news about what is covered in the lesson, and location-based announcements, including from the library, principal's office, cafeteria, gymnasium...etc.

Start with Presentations

Teachers can use wireless presentations to promote engagement in the classroom by sharing short presentations such as PowerPoint or Google slides that are easily digestible. This will engage students in a fun way and give them a visual aid that aids in understanding the lesson. Teachers can also use digital signage to display events happening around school. Students will be more engaged if they feel included in what is going on in their school.

Improve Focus

Throughout the day, teachers and parents are constantly encouraging their children to stop fidgeting and sit still. They're seeking immediate results of improved grades, behavior, and the ability to focus on the work at hand. Surprisingly, both of these can be achieved with the use of something many children are already using throughout the day - digital signage.

Displaying Content

Digital signage can be helpful tools for educators to use in their classrooms to increase engagement with students. When deciding what content to display, there are plenty of options to choose from, so it's easy to find one that will work for your classroom.

Weather forecasts are a good option because they are timely, can be updated to show specific regions, and are useful in fall and spring. The forecasts are updated daily, which can help give students updates on what they should wear for the day.
