Best Free Trigonometry Calculators

The purpose of this post is to share with you this collection of some very good trigonometry calculators that you and your students can use to ‘calculate trigonometric angle functions (sin, cos, tan, sec, csc, tan) in either degrees or radians’. All of these calculators are simple and easy to use. 

They work on pretty much on any browser and some of them are also available as mobile apps for iOS and Android. Check them out and share with us on our social media platforms if you have other suggestions to add to the list.

1. Trigonometry Calculator, at Symbolab

Symbolab offers this helpful trigonometry calculator to help you 'calculate trigonometric equations, prove identities, and evaluate functions step by step'. Use the left sidebar to choose which type of calculation you want to perform.

As of recently, Symbolab also added a new feature called Geometry Solver which you can access from the top bar. As a free user, you have access to very limited features. To unlock the site's full features you need to sign up to a premium plan which costs $9.99/month (billed monthly), or $39.99 billed yearly. 2. Trigonometry Calculator, at Mathway

Mathway has this practical trigonometry calculator that is simple and easy to use. Here is how Mathway calculator works: Select a subject, enter your problem or upload a picture, click on Submit. Mathway offers detailed step by step solutions. If you are not familiar with Mathway, I recommend you read the Mathway review for teachers. Mathway Calculator is also available in both Google Play and App Store for free download.


3. Trig calculator, by Microsoft

Microsoft Math Solver offers help with various math topics covering pre-algebra, algebra, calculus, and trigonometry. The way it works is simple: start by typing your math problem (use the math keyboard provided by the tool). You can also take a picture of your math problem and let Math Solver does the rest.

When you click on Solve, Math Solver “provides instant solutions and goes a step beyond, with step-by-step guidance using various problem-solving methods. To view steps, select the problem-solving method and click ‘Show solution steps’'.


4. Right Triangle Calculator

Right Triangle Calculator is an online tool and mobile app to use to get help with your own math problems. The trig calculator is simple and easy to use. It offers step by step solutions to various trigonometry and geometry problems. It also makes use of real math notations including radicals, exponents, fractions, pi, and many more.

The tool also supports several calculators such as oblique triangles, circles, sectors, trigonometric identities, coterminal angles, complimentary angles, trigonometric functions, and more. 

Solutions provided by the calculator include "the exact values of all sides, angles, the area, the perimeter, and step-by-step explanations for each value. This is a right-angled triangle trigonometry calculator that can be used to perform quick value calculations. The calculator is able to calculate "the value of sides, angles, and the area of a right-angled triangle given valid known values...Angles can be worked out using degrees or radians".

Rapid Tables offers this handy online trigonometry calculator that is simple and easy to use. There is a right triangle calculator, trigonometric functions calculator, and trigonometric expression calculator. All of these calculators are provided for free. No login in or registration is required.

Rapid Tables also offers access to a wide range of math calculators including percentage calculator, log calculator, pythagorean theorem calculator, ratio calculator, square root calculator, sine calculator, tangent calculator, and many more.

Giga Calculator offers this helpful trigonometry calculator to help you calculate trigonometry functions in degrees or radians. Here is how it works: first select a function from the drop-down menu (e.g., sin(x), cos(x), tan (x). csc (x), cot (x), etc), then enter an angle in degrees or radians or type in a number, select if you are entering degrees or radians, then click on Calculate.


9. Trigonometry Calculator, at Omni Calculator

Omni Calculator offers this free trigonometry calculator to help you with your trigonometry needs. You can use the first part of the calculator to 'find the values of sine, cosine, tangent and their reciprocal functions'. You can also use the calculator to search for the missing side or angle in a right triangle.
