A few weeks ago I reviewed Magic Digital Badges which is a Google Drive add-on that enables you to easily design and assign digital badges to students. In today's post, I am sharing with you this practical video lesson designed by Google for Education and titled 'Design and Share a Digital Badge'. In this lesson students will get to learn how to use both Google Drawings to create digital badges and Google Slides to design scrapbook for badges they recieve.
The instructional video tutorials in Design and Share a Digital Badge will guide students throughout the whole creative process. Starting with Google Drawings, students will learn how to draw and format a shape for their badge; how to add background colour, format their character trait, before finally downloading their final badge as a JPEG file. Next, they will learn how to use Google Slides to create a personal digital scrapbook where they can save the badges they create or the ones they receive from others.
Design and Share a Digital Badge comes with a detailed lesson plan to walk you through the pedagogical steps and learning objectives that this activity addresses. Also, when students finish the lesson they will get to print out certificates of completion.
