Google Drive Extensions for Teachers

After we have seen how to use Google Drive to collaborate work among various participants, we are sharing with you this collection of handy Chrome extensions to use with your Google Drive. You can use them to enhance your productivity and facilitate your workflow. The initial list contained 7 extensions but decided to omit two titles : Google Docs Offline which did not work at all on my browser, you can try it and see if it works for you, and another extensions called Sync Google Drive with Dropbox, Box, this extension requires access to all of your accounts which poses some real privacy issues. 1- Save to Google Drive

‘This extension allow you to save web content directly to Google Drive through a browser action or context menu. You can save documents, images, and HTML5 audio and video all by right clicking and selecting 'Save to Google Drive'. You can save the currently viewed page using the 'Save to Google Drive' browser action.’

2- Checker Plus for Google Drive

‘Quickly browse your Google Drive files without opening a webpage and get notifications of modifications to your shared documents.’

3- Notes for Google Drive

‘Sick of emailing yourself notes, links and ideas? want to keep everything in Google Drive? Notes for Google Drive lets you keep all your notes right where you want them.’

4- Office Editing for Docs, Sheets and Slides

‘View and edit Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files -- without needing Office installed on your computer. Once the extension is installed, Office files that you drag into Chrome, open in Gmail, Google Drive, and more, will be opened in Docs, Sheets, and Slides for viewing and editing.’

5- Quick Create for Google Drive

‘Quickly create new Google documents, spreadsheets, forms, presentations and drawings. Supports multiple Google accounts through the options as well as shortcuts to custom templates.’
