Some Good Digital Storytelling Tools for Chromebook Users

As a learning activity, digital storytelling has a number of pedagogical benefits. It helps students develop their literacy skills (espcially writing), it empowers their voice and provides them with a venue through which they can unleash their creative and expressive abilities and display their learning, it also enhances collaborative team work and teaches students  how to deal with multimodal forms of representation.  In today's post, we are sharing with you a number of interesting Chrome tools students can use to create and share their digital stories. These are especially useful for teachers using Chromebooks in their instruction. Using the tools below, students will be able to narrate their stories in different modes and  formats including videos, interactive visuals, presentations, and comic strips. ThingLink allows you to create interactive visuals and video content. You can create a wide vareity of posters, infographics, maps, and hyperlinked videos and share them through social media sites or via embed codes.

3- Canva


An excellent tool for creating different types of visuals. You can either use pre-designed templates or start yours from scratch. Your final product can be downloaded and shared in PDG or PNG format.

Another good tool for creating beauiful visuals in the form of posters, flyers, presentations, infographics and many more. It also offers tons of free pre-made templates to start with.

One of the easiest and simple tools students can use to tell their stories in the form of a presentation or slideshow. Slides allow you to ‘tell a story together with rich animations, customized drawings, seamless transitions, a variety of themes, and much more.’
