Back with another excellent resource from OER Commons. This is basically a collection featuring over 4000 free resources aligned to the Common Core. Teachers can use, share and even design their own materials to share with others. You can search through these resources using filters on the left hand side to narrow down your queries. You can search for materials by grade, subject area, educational level, material type or language. Every resource comes with a full description of what it is , what age group it targets and how teachers can use it in their instruction. For those of you who are not familiar with OER Commons, this is ‘a platform that provides open access to a wide variety of open educational resources that are either in the public domain or are licensed under Creative Commons. These resources include things such as :’ full courses, course materials, modules, textbooks, streaming videos, tests, software, and any other tools, materials, or techniques used to support access to knowledge. Teachers can re-use and adapt these instructional resources their own teaching situations and according to the learning needs of their students. The site also provides tools to allow educators to contribute their own educational materials . To this end, you can use Open Author to create media rich documents, Lesson Builder to create interactive lessons, or Module Builder to design interactive modules. OER Commons has an internal search functionality that allows you to easily locate any resource you want. You can refine your search by subject, grade level and standards.’
