How-to Guides and Instructional Videos to Help Kids Learn New Skills

Below are some excellent resources you can use with your students and kids to unleash their creativity and get them engaged in hands-on learning activities. These website provide useful how-to guides, instructional videos, an animated illustration covering a wide variety of topics from step-by-step experiments with scientific phenomena to complex tech tips and tricks. Kids will get to discover new ideas, learn interesting lifehacks and, most importantly, develop instrumental skills  to hep them in their scholarly learning.

1- Instructables

Instructables is an educational website and mobile app where you can have access to a treasure trove of instructional videos and how-to guides covering a wide variety of topics from science experiments to amazing inventions. If you need some new ideas for your next classroom maker project, Instructables offers a library of over 100k of do-it-yourself projects created and shared by members of the community which amount to 2 million members. Additionally, you and your students can create your own projects and upload them to the site and share your ideas with other teachers.

2- VideoScience

‘A growing library of over 80 hands-on Science lessons that are great for home and the classroom. These short videos demonstrate inexpensive and easy to recreate experiments that are designed to inspire and excite kids of all ages. VideoScience is hosted by Dan Menelly, a Science Teacher at the UN International School and a 2010 Einstein Fellow with the National Science Foundation in the Office of Cyberinfrastructure.’

3- DIY App – Creative Community for Kids
