Below is an infographic I recently created and shared in a previous post. The visual captures the different categories of both Bloom's Taxonomy and the revised taxonomy. I also added a level  containing my own suggestions for digital tools to use with students to cultivate specific thinking skills.

This work is also available for free download  in PDF format. Simply shoot me an email at info@educatorstechnology and I will send it over. Free free to publish this visual on your blog or website provided you credit this page as the source.

Bloom's taxonomy

As I stated elsewhere, Bloom's original Taxonomy was published in the middle of last century and was revised in 2001  by Lorin Anderson and his colleagues and henceforth was labelled Bloom's Revised Taxonomy.

The revised edition brought some slight modifications. For instance, instead of nouns the new taxonomy used verbs thus highlight the importance of agency and action. Also, the revised taxonomy emphasizes creativity and places it at the top of the cognitive skills.

Since the emergence of the revised taxonomy,a number of teachers and educators have experimented with its content adding and expanding its scope to incorporate the digital component. Andrew Churches is one of the trail blazing guys who pioneered the integration of digitality into the revised taxonomy resulting in Bloom's digital taxonomy.
