New Important Update to Google Search More Features for Word Definitions

Google has just rolled out a new interesting update to its search functionalities. With this new update Google dictionary definitions are now more contextually rich and  informative than before. As you know Google has an integrated dictionary that any user can invoke by simply writing define+ the word to be defined ( for instance define comets ). Now when you search for a definition you get more than just a direct chunk of text defining the term, you will have a variety of other things to help you better understand the term.

Here are the new features added to Google dictionary definitions :
  • Sample sentence and synonyms for most words
  • it’ll show a word’s etymology (sometimes as a flow chart and sometimes as regular text)
  • It also shows how often a word was used over time
  • you can also use voice queries like “What’s the definition of fortuitous?” and “What are synonyms for fortuitous?” to have Google speak its answers back to you.

Keep in mind that all of these new features will only work initially in USA and are available for both desktops and mobile.
