Great Videos from Nottigham University

The University of Nottingham has some great video resources  for teachers. It has a series of videos on different topics the most popular of which are : Words of the World, Periodic table of videos, and Foodskey, the science of food. Theses videos are hosted in YouTube but don't worry if your school blocks YouTube . Nottingham University provides another alternative server through which you can watch these videos.





Words of the World
This is a series of videos on language.Several linguists and historians try to explain the origins and history of some words in the English language. Here is a video example of the defintion of the word 'feminism'




The Periodic Table of Elements
This table provides demonstrations of the characteristics of each element featured in the table. When you click on a box you will be shown a video explaining it. The videos again are hosted in Youtube. Here is an example of Hydrogene video included in the table



Foodskey
This is a series of 14 videos on the science of food. The videos cover a set of different topics such as: nutrition, crop technology,  food security. Click on any food item to watch its video. Here is a video I have choosen on Strawberry
